Repubblica – Chelsea offer Milan Diego Costa on loan
Chelsea have offered AC Milan Diego Costa on loan until January 2018 but the rossoneri are skeptic about such a move.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan are in the hunt for a new centre forward, eager to give manager Vincenzo Montella a player who can secure a high number of goals. A world class striker is needed.
Alvaro Morata is not an option any more, seeing his official transfer to Chelsea. While the 28 year old, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was blocked by Borussia Dortmund, who no longer want to sell him. There remaining alternatives are Andrea Belotti of Torino and Nikola Kalinic of Fiorentina, names that have been heavily linked to AC Milan this week. Andrea Belotti is expected to meet Torino’s president today in order to decide his future while Kalinic will join his team after several days of absence (read here).
AC Milan’s management have not excluded surprise names that have not been yet by published by the media but at this moment it is difficult to imagine who will arrive in San Siro in the coming weeks. La Repubblica newspaper reveals that Chelsea’s Diego Costa was offered on loan to the rossoneri until January, when he will move to Atletico Madrid (the Spanish club are blocked in the transfer market by FIFA). The Spanish bomber has Jorge Mendes as his agent, the same as Andre Silva.
Diego Costa would be an attacker available to the rossoneri only for a few months and then the club would again be unsure what to do for the future. However, AC Milan are expected to sign another striker this summer. It is not yet known whether the club intends to accept the proposal, although for now there is much skepticism about it. It is unlikely that CEO Marco Fassone and sports director, Massimiliano Mirabelli would be willing to make Milan a “parking place” for the 28 year old born in Brazil, despite his qualities never being in question.
